Memberships Count!

The ten year value of the average member is 4.5x greater than the average visitor. The average Blue Star Museum gets over 800,000 visitors per year.

What Exists?

These are current solutions and pain points within museums.

wall plaques & info boards are time intensive and can be crowded

brochures are not interactive nor extensive

human guides are limited

audio guides not interactive and not group friendly

inter-active screens are limited and leave users feeling rushed

App Design

When first arriving at the museum visitors use their Clink number and members use their ID number to login to the MSI App. This allows Clink to bluetooth pair to their smart phone and access their account. At the end of each visit there will be a recap of the exhibits and displays visitors spent the most time at.

The app will tell them their telemetry data such as amount of time spent and questions asked at relevant exhibits and it will give them more information those displays. It will also give recommendations for upcoming events, movie showings, tours, and articles to learn more about related topics. Lastly, it will recommend gift shop items related to visitors interests.

The museum benefits from this by increasing user involvement, gathering telemetry data, adjust curation accordingly, increasing attendance at events, and making more sales in the gift shop.

Ideation

This device was intended to be a small, sleek feature that adds to museums instead of distracting from them. I wanted it to be something comfortable to carry in your hand or fit in your pocket and as simple as possible.
