Hi, Iā€™m Amara Colovos, an industrial Designer based in Seattle, WA.

I use she/her pronouns and recently graduated from the University of Washington School of Design. From Grand Rapids, Michigan, I grew an interest in design from a young age, participating in Odyssey of the Mind, art electives, and endless passion projects. In 2018, when I was accepted into the UW industrial design program my professional journey began. My art history and diversity minors contributed more to my understanding of design and their influences on the world than I ever could have imagined and have truly transformed my ideology.

In my free time I enjoy going to museums, sewing, hiking, skiing, camping, dog walking, cooking, backpacking, reading, watching movies, swimming, and biking.

My best designs come when I am motivated by social issues, inspired by nature, or moved by history. My creative process is enhanced by energizing conversations and pin balling ideas around. I am a firm believer in working hard, working together, and having fun along the way!
